I get some 64Bit codecs from google as FFDShow and Laragrith 64, unfortunately Lagarith is not shown in max 64. But now I think I will start using image sequences. I used to render to Lagarith, lossless with great results. Not tried installing it, so use at your own risk. There are very few 64bit codecs available, though there is 1 64bit "codec pack" around - you'll have to google for it I'm afraid - so only seeing 3 codecs (in 64bit) is normal.Īs mentioned above, render to an image sequence then you can use Max 32 bit, any external compositor or even a free tool such as VirtualDub, all of which will have access to all the codecs installed on your system. Thirdly because converting from a sequence to an avi is much faster then the the initial rendering which gives you the opportunity to try differen codecs comparatively quickly. Secondly, if something goes wrong you'll have to re-render the whole thing instead of just the missing frames. Always render to an image sequence, for several reasons.įirstly because you lose quality rendering direct to avi.
